Just a few minutes ago, I came across an article in the Daily Express. Two teenagers boarded a bus in mile one and a half in Sandakan. Suddenly, the bus broke down. A robber who was also on the bus took this opportunity to rob these two teenagers, RM 70 from one of them who was 15 years old and RM 1 from another boy who was 17.
Feeling discontented, this 17 year old confronted and picked a fight with the robber. This other boy helped his friend too. Unfortunately, the robber kicked them both out of the bus. The 15 year old boy's head hit the cement kerb, causing the 15 year old to sustain head injuries while the 17 year old to sustain minor injuries. No one in the bus came out with anyway to stop this or help the boys.
This robber made the driver leave the two boys lying down at the side of the road and drop him at another spot when the bus was fixed. The driver rushed back to the place where the teenagers were and sent them to the hospital. The 15 year old could not be saved and was pronounced dead on arrival due to serious head injuries.
Today is the eve of Hari Raya. I wonder how is the victim's family going to celebrate this Raya. They would be really devastated to learn that one of their family members actually died on the last day of the fasting month. After fasting for 29 days and he got killed? This is just so ironic. I really pity him.
As for those who were on the bus, you guys really did a great job for showing the uglier side of Malaysians. Wow, bravo! Kudos! You just make me sick. I know that not all Malaysians are like this. For instance, the bus driver who took the effort to drive back and send them to the hospital. But it only takes a handful of people like this to make the Malaysian community ugly, figuratively. First of all, the robber is not armed, and there are a lot of passengers in the bus. So wouldn't it be easier to overpower the robber?
So, what? Is it just easier to cross your arms, sit there and wait for a nice, live drama to watch in the bus? Or is it that your legs are very tired because of the long ride? Or oh oh is it because the robber was too far away from your seat? Or is it because you were too busy thinking about what kuih to eat for Raya? Ha? Or I forgot to mention about Rendang... Kurma or Curry?
Come on la. I'm no good samaritan but I'm sure if everyone contributes at least something to help, this world would have been a better place to live in, period.
p/s I know that there are a lot of better Malaysians out there and this entry does not reflect on all other Malaysians. This entry just shows part of the loathsome side of some Malaysians.

hullo. if only u have stayed for 6 more months. lol. well i link u yah
hmm..i do agree that the other passengers in the bus should help the boys when they've decided to fight back, but at the first place, i do not think that the two boys should fight back for that small amount of money and cause unwanted tragedy to happen..not that we encourage the act of the robbers, but for our own safety, just like what police advise the citizens, we should not fight back if we encounter this kind of situation to remain safe and unhurt..all they want is just money..we can earn back the money, but not life..anyway, accidents cannot be predicted too..well, just my opinion..is that a wrong concept of Malaysian thinking too?? i don't know..
Yeah, i agree that the teenagers shouldn't have fought back for their money in the first place as well. Furthermore, it is the one who was robbed RM1 who initiated the fight and it ended up with the death of the one who was robbed RM70. Craziness. But I'm not putting the fault at the teenagers because I think that it is not the amount of money that matters nor is it about putting our lives as our first priority but it is about what is wrong is wrong and two wrongs doesn't make one right. Anyway, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That's why we have this comment section! WoooooHooooooo! Thanks for the comment!
